Receiving goods abroad.

Hi, I am an Australian now living in the Philippines, I still have my bank accounts in Australia and have my  purchases sent to my brothers address in Oz then he sends them to me. My question is, if I change my mailing address to the philippines with my bank accounts in Australia to purchase internationally using PayPal, is it going to set off alarm bells and other problems. It's getting too expensive to pay shipping costs twice.

Thanks,  Barnoll.

you can have up to 8 different addresses in Paypal (I have my grandkids in NSW, myself in Vic, and a friend in Qld) -- you choose one before paying thru Paypal and that this the address the seller should send to

but

the seller does not have to send o/s if they are not inclined to, and using the safest Paypal method to Philippines could be very expensive.   every seller will want to cover themselves, so yes, it is possible if (1) the seller is willing to ship o'seas and (2) you agree to their choosen postage price.

for you to bid on any item i would ask the seller first if they post overseas

some sellers dont and if they do they would have to give you a different postage price as the one listed on the listing would be different

I am not a seller purely a buyer so i may be way off the mark here but, if i was a seller i think your situation would be ringing alarm bells all over the place. Paying in AU dollar and deliver to the Philipines would have scam written all over it me. Not saying you are a scammer just that it looks very suspicious thats all.

If you bought from me and wanted shipping to the Philippines I would charge you for the postage that gave me all the bells and whistles required to protect myself from a Paypal dispute.

There is a fair chance that your two lots of postage would be less than my one lot.

Besides, I don't sell OS and a lot of other sellers don't either.

Stick with the system you are using. Or get your brother to hold your purchases until there are enough to minimise per item postage costs to the Philippines.

Thanks for the previous replies, I read somewhere that PayPal requires that Items must be sent to the address stated in the buyers account otherwise buyer protection will not be honoured, so if I change my address to where I am now living in the Philippines,I can't see that there should be a problem and I asume that PayPal converts the payment into that of the sellers currency. I have emailed PayPal with my concerns a few times but received no reply. I really want the protection of PayPal when purchasing online.
