Scheduled maintenance on Friday arvo, payday, real smart eBay @!@#$%%

Can anyone give me a good reason why eBay should do their scheduled maintenance on Friday afternoons? It is most peoples payday and they want to balls everything up at that time?

Why cant they do it at like 2am when it is maximum offpeak, is it just me or does everyone else see how daft eBay staff really are. Over the decade or so of being a member I only see balls up after balls up.

Well, US time is behind our time so it probably suits them as it would the early hours of last night  ๐Ÿ™‚

I didn't realise Friday was everyone's pay day. I get paid on Wednesday, OH on Thursday...just saying...

But it is not Friday afternoon in the United States.  Ebay does do their maintenance overnight when it will disrupt the least number of people.

Australia is a very small cog in the ebay wheel.

..and more importantly Friday is traditionally the afternoon/ night workers stay on in the city, drinks with friends/ catch up etc. so fewer ''workers'' at home to buy on ebay... perfect time to do maintenance

absolutely, and if they bid after the drinks they often regret it next day and do not pay, or are trouble.  The only really troublesome buyer I have had bid in the middle of the night on one item (and thankfully was outbid in the end) and then bought another 2 at BIN; although these 2 were ending next day and had no bids, and the BIN was $100 more on each.  If she won the 1st item it would have been $1200 worth of goods.  She obviously had second thoughts, judging by her questions next day, then she paid, but when they arrived she tried SNAD and lost.
