Scratch is actually a crack

Purchased a Smartphone that was described as having a scratch on the top right hand corner. received the phone today and the scratch is actually a cracked screen. I'm of course not happy. A scratch is one thing and can be over looked but a cracked screen means it is pretty well worhless.

Would this be covered bt Paypals not as described??

Scratch is actually a crack

Should be if you open up a Not as described claim. Bear in mind you will be required to send it back, tracked, at your expense.

Only send it back to the seller when Paypal tells you to, and to the address Paypal gives you at that time.

You could also get a quote on replacing the screen, if that is possible, and discuss the cost with the seller.

Take photos right away and let the seller know it is a crack, not a scratch. If they want to help you with that, don't let your 45 days of buyer protection lapse if they are nice about it, but drag things out. If not resolved, still open a Paypal claim at about day 40 from payment at the very latest.

So tell the seller first, but be aware that for buyer protection, do not attempt to fix it yourself, or it is considered not as you received it, and that negates your protection if you then claim.

Good luck.
