I purchased some computer speakers from China and the items didnt arrive. I communicated with the seller who requested to allow 30 days delivery to Australia which i agreed to. Item still didnt arrive. Communicated with seller who then advised another set would be sent straight away. So i agreed. Another 30 days went by and still no speakers. Problem is, purchase is now outside the 45 allowed by ebay for disputed sales. Seller will not respond to my emails and i still have no speakers. Cannot contact ebay as they dont want to know about disputes outside the set time frame. Dont know what sort of a racket this is but its the first time I've had a problem with ebay purchasel. Does this mean that you dont give sellers any extra time if item doesnt arrive, just leave bad feedback and lose your money?
Worse thing is i'm still waiting for 2 other items from China for a different much more expensive puchase before Christmas for kids Xmas present and they havent arrived and its 34 days. Do i just leave a bad report and lose again?

Open the disputes, even if the seller's appear to be accomodating and want to resend the items etc.
Once open, you can then allow up to another 20 days for the items to arrive before escalating to a claim (if you don't escalate to a claim, the dispute automatically closes in the seller's favour after 20 days).
You can leave it until the last possible moment before opening the dispute (I'd recommend no later than day 44, as it's to the minute when the time-frame closes, and you can sometimes miss the cut-off point on the last day, but that will allow 60+ days for the item to arrive.
If the item arrives and you have received a refund from PayPal already, you can easily resend payment. Better to do it that way than allow a seller to string you along past the claim time. If an item can not possibly arrive before the dispute close-off, you could also try asking for a refund of the original payment and re-purchasing.

Never ever allow that 45 days to pass no matter what the seller says no matter where they are from.
If you funded the payment with a credit card call your bank and get a chargeback underway.
Paypal is there for your protection to use it in the future if needed.
Also if it is not past the 60 days since purchase leave neg feedback to warn others and sometimes the seller will not like that and ask you to revise it which you can say ok after a full refund is issued.
