Seller did not reveal they are selling for someone else

The problem here is that I have contracted to buy an item from someone who is not actually the seller. The seller has good feedback and so I trusted the item description (eg used but "in perfect condition").

The 'hidden seller' was allowed to list the item with their own description and this hidden seller has, of course, no feedback and I have no basis to judge the trustworthiness of their description.

I feel that I have been mislead (not intentionally but mislead nevertheless) and the transaction is now too risky and may need to be cancelled. Am I entitled to cancel?

Are you talking about the followup to the neg that OP has not long left ?

Follow-up by snesn (02-Jan-13 21:52):This matter has been satisfactorily resolved. Please remove the above feedback.

Yeah but on second thought, it seems the matter hasn't been resolved if the seller is still wanting that feedback removed.

I currently have one of those on lay-by at my local cinema - only three more payments before it's all mine! B-)

At a guess maybe that fool has promised to revise his feedback if Aidan doesn't open a NPB dispute and he's reneged on it. We might find out eventually.

Bump , I am sure that many people may very well have a sense of humor and also know how to behave and understand that how they behave reflects upon them.

If people feel that the OP here may have been making false statements about someone, inferring dishonesty/lies ,trying to break the rules and/or behaving ,being rude to others,

surely they themselves can see where else those things may also have been seen to be done if they chose to and think about how what else has been published and how that looks?

That's a really good plan.

Our school has specific internet lessons in a compulsory subject called Personal Development where they are taught all about appropriate and safe internet usage. They even have had guest speakers from the police and other organizations come in to talk about the dangers etc...... but still after all that - it doesn't seem to always get through *sigh*

The school IT security department periodically does searches on its students and recently a simple google search of student names revealed all sorts of stuff from their facebook accounts to twitter accounts some photo storage place - and so many of the kids had put up so much info that was there for all to see.

The earmarked students were bought into school to work with the IT security department to "clean everything up",

We're lucky that our school takes such proactive measures, but I don't think many other schools go to these extremes.... so it's scary to think about what information about other kids is "out there".

(Our school even monitors what apps they have on their iPads - LOL - and for some techy reason I don't understand, any apps or music that I have on my iPad all goes onto theirs as well....... Not a big deal except I have to wade through hundreds of mind numbing songs or skim past heaps of kiddy apps, but I downloaded an album by Rhianna, and it came up on the kids iPads as well - even when we deleted it it kept coming back on, but we didn't realize this until one of the checks revealed its presence and the poor kid got detention for having inappropriate material on his device *blush*)

Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

It can be a worry Crikey, I hope that they are also taught that just because it's there may not be an excuse in a Court of Law if they use what they set out to find with malicous intent with the intent to 'a reasonable person'  harm.

that the freedoms they can enjoy must be within the limits of the Law
