Seller just threatened me.

So I purchased a pair of boots from a girl here on Ebay, and since the new password thing came into affect, I had trouble getting into my account and then I had to wait for money to be transfered from my PayPal obviously before I paid. I just received an email from her saying "Pay or I will be visitng you in grenfell" which is not too far from me. After reading this, I don't want her boots because of the attitude and the threat so forget it - I will not pay anyone who speaks to me like that or threaten me. Now, this is quite scary and worrying. Will Ebay do anything about this when I report her?

Quite possibly, definitely report in your messages and go to your local police station and file a report to be prepared in case it escalates. Not saying they will come to your house but in case things get worse over the net.

Why do you say you had to wait for funds to arrive in your ebay account? All you had to do was make the payment as soon as you purchased and the seller would see you had initiated payment by echeque which Paypal would have collected from your bank.

The seller's behaviour is inexcusable and way over the top but I can understand them being annoyed if you took longer than 4 days to make the payment.

I absolutely agre that you should report the email to ebay and registering a complaint with the police is a good way to handle it, other than that I would completely ignore any furthr communication from them.

I thought the personal information (now removed) that was put in the description of the relisted boots was way out of line, if not against policy and/or illegal. I certainly hope that was reported to ebay/police also.

Including another eBayer's contact info is reportable thusly:

Reason for Report: Inappropriate item description

Detailed Reason: Publish contact information (The listing includes another eBay member's contact information.)

So it is good that personal info is now removed.
