I have finally received the printer, I just checked the toner level, it has about 25% toner level.
When I bought the printer, the listing says that all printers for sale have 80% or more toner, the seller has a multiple item listing style, which mean he was able to modifier the listing, now I check the listing, he changed to the first four has 80% or more toner level.
How can eBay allow the seller to modify the listing? I mean it is fine that he can modify the listing for future sells, the modification shouldn't affect the listing of the people who already bought it.
What can I do in this case? Can I get the history of the changes he made to the listing? Because now I have no proof, he can change the listing at will and when I click on purchase history, it would bring me to his current listing. **bleep**, this is fraud.

If the listing has been modified then there should be a link to click on to see the item that you bought. Your Purchase History also shows the item you bought, not the updated listing.
If the listing you bought says the printer has 80% toner level and the updated listing has the same information I am not sure where the problem is and there is certainly no fraud. The seller has to be able to update the number of items for sale as he sells some and get new stock.
If your printer is not as described, contact the seller and let him know. You don't need the history of the changes the seller has made to the listing to do that.

If you click on the item at the top there will be a link saying -
The listing below has been updated by the seller, but you can see the item you purchased.
Click on the link and it will take you to the description of the item at the time you made your purchase.

if the printer was sold as 'used' then i can't see how you would prove it didn't have 80% toner in it. you could just as easily removed toner from it as the seller before posting. thats why buying used printers is open for tricky tactics. buy new then no arguments.

Paypal has almost always sided with the buyer when it comes to words vs words.

Then you don't have to prove your assertion, do you?

So what are you complaining about....you are the buyer in this case?
But it is far too early to be thinking about disputes.....contact the seller and see what he says.
Just for future reference....for a Not As Described dispute it is better to use ebay. If you have to return the item the seller will have to pay the return postage. If you use paypal you will have to pay the return postage.

Given how cheap printers are these days, I'm not sure why anyone would buy a second hand one. At least a new one you know it's going to work. Plus you get a warranty.

So true Tippy. The last 2 printers I purchesed were brand new and cheaper than any ebay second hand ones after a bit of shopping around.

every time i have a printer go to printer heaven i allready have a spare new one in my store room ready to go. you really dont want to be without one for long and as you say they are so cheap these days. i now have a set up with a spare ready and when one fails i get the new spare out and i'm back in printing business in about half an hour. then i look for a new spare at a good price at my leasure not rushing around trying to find something quickly. as allways use the same printer brand/model usually the spare inks ive got work on the replacement too. if they dont the spare printers old enough i can buy non original replacement inks really cheap.
