So on November 1st I bough this item 331690748899. On the 5th of November I contacted the seller requesting a update on the condition of whether or not it has been posted however recieved no responce. The estimated delivery date was was yesterday and he has yet to reply to the many forms of contact that I have tried. I have also noticed that the delievery has been marked as posted or shipping. I have even requested his phone number to try contact him however no luck. Is this normal behavour or should I request a refund and if there is still no response what should I do?

The estimated delivery date is just that, an estimate. The seller doesn't set that date, eBay does and sellers have no control over it. Given the amount you have spent and the fact the seller has sold a high value item with low feedback, I would be concerned if it's not here by next week. Did he upload a tracking number when he marked it as posted?
Given he hasn't got much experience, it's also possible that he hasn't been on eBay since he posted it, so may not have realised you had been hounding him with messages. If it hasn't arrived by next week, open an item not received dispute through PayPal (assuming you paid with PayPal?)

I would be concerned. I'd be very concerned and here's why.
It's a seller with a very low score & you're not hearing back from him. Not a thing. Yet when the listing was active and people asked questions, he was right onto it, wasn't he! "No worries, mate etc" in his replies. Eager to convince people to bid. He knows very well how to reply, he just isn't bothering.
Your questions not only go to ebay messages, they go to his email. But in any case you say it has now been marked as sent, so he's been on ebay alright. he's just ignoring you & i suspect trying to fob you off & it is a huge amount of money you have spent. You deserve better.
I don't think you have been too hasty to ask questions at all. If a seller doesn't mark an item as sent by 5 days after a sale, then they should expect buyers might ask.
Here's what I would do. It has now been a couple of weeks after the sale, I would give it maybe a couple more days & if it still has not arrived, I would put in an item not received claim. I wouldn't contact him again, you've given him a fair chance, I would just put in a claim for your money back. I sincerely hope you paid via paypal or you will probably have lost your money.
Don't let him try to convince you to close any case before you get the goods, either.
You can open a claim even if he doesn't reply to you. If he doesn't respond to ebay or paypal and cannot prove the item has been delivered, you will get your money back.
You ask if this is normal. No, it is not. With regular, good sellers you get replies within 48 hours, even for items that only cost a dollar or two.

I have fallen victim to same - item descibed as in Australia - sent at least 6 emails to Seller - no reply - called Ebay and opened case. Seller has not marked item as sent and has listed a fake ph no. with EBay. I paid with Paypal and the sale is marked completed and the seller's name is in chinese writing. What I dont understand is do I open the case with Ebay and why they say not to contact Paypal? Is it better to open the dispute for non delivery with Paypal or Ebay under these circumstances? Ive learnt the lesson - dont buy from a seller with no feedback especially expensive electrical. I read somewhere that if you open a dispute with Paypal then Ebay wont get invovled s question is - what is the best way to proceed to get money back? Ebay has put it on hold until mid next week before refund will be considered.

Item not received dispute is better opened in paypal.
Item not as described is better opened in ebay as they force the seller to pay for the return postage.
