Sellers trying to resell faulty returned goods

Has anyone had a problem where the item has arrived and the box has been opened? I bought a security camera and when it came the camera had been opened and the batteries were missing. These batteries were 16850 Lithium type. I spent hours trying to get the camera to work and finally gave it to an IT specialist who got it running for one time on a iPad, but I want Android. He told me that it might be the actual App or the unit is just faulty. Now, I'm suggesting that you never accept opened boxes. Since the GST law has been changed, vendors have tighten up on getting more return.

I often have boxes arrive opened but very rarely do I have problems with the items involved, and anyhow I'm covered for faulty goods by eBay's MBG or Paypal's dispute process.

Not sure how the GST would impact on a seller's bottom line though, if indeed it does.

What is eBay's item number of the camera ?

Tere is not much you can do about an opened box......if an item comes from overseas you have to accept that it may be opened by Customs before you receive it.

Can you expain what the GST has to do with anything please?
