I must admit that I'm sick of seeing the same item from the same seller re-listed for up to 5 years long. I just can't understand how some sellers have items up at rediculous prices and the same listing has appeared for over 5 years. Don't ever tell me the seller has mulitple items, as they don't, they are just so greedy that instead of pricing the item at roughly what it should the just have it ongoing.
I think that eBay should allow an item to be listed only 5 times at the same price and after that it can not be relisted as eBay is fast becoming the home of online shopping of grossly overpriced garage sale junk !

The thing is, it only costs 20c a month to have something listed as Buy It Now, no matter what price it is. If I have something which (in my eyes) is worth what I'm asking, I don't care if it sits there for a year until I find someone who agrees with me - it's only cost me a couple of bucks. I guess after a year or so I would discount the price - but you know, there's always a buyer out there who will pay for what you have if it is rare, beautiful or just what they want and really, surely that's all any of us are trying to do.

If the seller is prepared to keep paying the listing fees for that long I figure it's their business and there's nothing to be gained by working yourself up over it.
As for Ebay stepping in I very much doubt that would ever happen because Ebay is only interested in Ebay's bottom line.
My advice to you would be to build a bridge and get over it lol.

I'm not really bothered. It's their item and if they're in no rush to get rid of it then so be it. Some have free monthly listing and it takes a literally seconds to relist an item that doesn't sell so it's no loss to them.

I'm not bothered either. They aren't doing anything wrong .

I have some (very few) quite rare books. My prices here are low-end ballpark, so I'm quite happy to have them sit here for 5 years if necessary, at a cost of $3.00 in listing fees, and their scarcity increasing.
Horses for courses and all that.

OP, I actually think your comment is quite rude.
What you think is garbage may not be to others, and however long it "sits" there is, quite frankly, none of your business ๐

As I'm paying the monthly invoice, it's up to me how many times I allow an item to relist. I have a couple of listings that go back to 2010, however they are certainly not garbageB-)

Define garbage. As your listings are ONLY three years old, they might not fit OP's paradigm. ๐

Garbage is something I throw out each day;-)

In that case I have very little garbage. I consider myself a hoarder collector.
