Recently, I bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy S8 from ebay. tracking shows item delivered but we have never received the item. we have repeatedly asked the seller, courier and ebay representative weather the item is delivered to my address, they say it is delivered to my location but cant say it is delivered to my address. tracking shows only the name of suburb not the address. upon investigation, AU post says item delivered to my mail box, but how can they deliver to mailbox which is always locked? we have asked ebay to send us proof of shipment but they say they have no idea instead we have to ask with the seller. we have asked seller about the proof of shipment to our address, first he said he had written right address but later he stopped responding rather he opened a case. According to an ebay representative, based on the tracking, we are highly unlikely to win the case. we are more than sure that, there is not fault from our end, this may be a fault from delivery driver or seller might have written wrong address. Our building has 24/7 CCTV surveillance and we can prove that none of us received the item. but the problem is that ebay representative are not getting this fact, they are just repeating their written scripts that if the item shows delivered to the suburb that means it has been delivered to the address. this is weird. Ebay claims, they offer buyer and seller protection but what sort of protection is this? this is a **bleep** company ripping off people in the name of buyer's protection.

ebay is not at fault here it is Aust Post you need to take it up with.
If the tracking shows it was lodged and delivered and it is not delivered then you need to hassle Aust Post.
Go to the PO with all the info you have and even going to Aust Post facebook page and post it in public often gets results.

Presumably you paid with Paypal so open a Paypal dispute, ebay may accept delivery to a suburb as proof of delivery but Paypal should not do so. If Paypal find against you then call them and ask to speak to a supervisor.
There was a post a couple of days ago from a seller who won a not delivered case onl to have it reversed because the buyer sent a stat dec so that may be worth trying with ebay.
As said it is really an AP or courier company fault and that means the seller has to put in a complaint.
As a last resort if you funded the payment with a credit or Visa debit card then you can ask your bank about a chargeback.

No point going to Paypal - they only require proof of postage (as per Australian law)
If it is marked a delivered, the recipient is the one who needs to chase up AP.

My understanding in this situation is that you need to lodge a disputed delivery claim with Australia Post,
They can check the scanner used on delivery and confirm GPS delivery details. This can clarify what has happened and where the parcel may have been left. They have protocols in place to deal with compensation claims in these situations.

They only require proof of sending for the seller to be covered, The buyer can still get a refund but the cost will be down to Paypal, not the seller.

Sounds like seller wrote the address rather than printed an imported label, so it may yet be the seller who got the address wrong and not be APs fault at all.
This seller should have send such a valuable item more securely.

Exactly what happened to me today after purchasing a new Iphone8 plus back on November 10. I raised a case with Ebay and Australia Post who are currently investigating. The Australia Post representative I spoke with told me there have been cases where empty (or containing bogus contents) satchels are sent to random addresses within the same neighbourhood as the buyer. Australia Post Tracking is then updated to say that the item has been delivered. This is obviously a loophole and threatens ebay buyer protection. EBAY security personnel please look into this elaborate scam asap.
In my case today I was refreshing the tracking information page on the Aus Post website and saw that the item (sent via express post street mailbox) was just delivered. I was home and no parcel was delivered nor a 'failed to deliver' card left. I literally bolted to the letterbox as soon as I received notification and there was nothing. All this was after I received seller initiated notification from ebay that the item was posted last Tuesday (28th November). It just doesn't add up. If it was posted last week 28th Nov then I should have received last week.
I hope Ebay acknowledge this serious issue asap.

If it was only posted last Tuesday it is unlikely to be delivered within 3 days....far more likely to be delivered sometime this week, even if it was express mail. Are both you and the seller is the Express zone?
