US Ebay item sent to Australia via Japan?

Tracking shows my US Ebay purchased item has gone via Japan. 

Should I be concerned?

No, not yet.

There is plenty of anecdotal evidence of mail going on world tours before ending up in Australia.   Japan was recently mentioned as one of the unlikely stops.

Don't be concerned. My parcel from Uk went to Germany, USA, then Australia. Received now. The surprise was it only took one week.

I think it is because of limited flights the world over, that the postal service is probably going by the quickest possible route.
