I have an outstanding issue with a supplier since July 2014 regarding a warranty repairs on a Laptop. The supplier <Removed> is not complying with his warranty obligation to repair or replace the Laptop. Ebay also advised him to comply with warranty obligation. I sent the Laptop for repairs but he returned saying BIOS Password needs to be cleared by the buyer. I checked with Toshiba and they said they can clear for a fee. Since Laptop was under 1 year warranty all costs associated with the Laptop should be paid by the supplier. I am without a working Laptop since July 2014. I am very dissapointed with this supplier. They are helpful and keen to sell items but not helpful when comes to warranty obligations. I need to get a solution.

There is nothing ebay or paypal can do for you after all this time.
If the seller is a registered Australian business you can contact Fair Trading in your state and take it from there.

Did you put the password on there?
Sounds like you need to supply the password or remove it and the seller will honour the warranty on the item.
Which sounds fair enough to me (specially if you put the password on there).

I did not put a password. I have no idea how a PW was installed. If had installed a PW then I would have removed. Toshiba web site advise that BIOS PW can be removed by them. The problem I have is Supplier has returned the Laptop without repairs and asking me to remove the BIOS PW. Since the Laptop is under warranty the supplier should attend to technical repairs or replace or refund the money. This supplier is a doggy guy and only concerned of selling without satisfactory service.

I have requested him to provide his company name , ABN, address , Tel.No and he has not responded.<REMOVED> . He is still selling many Laptops through EBAY and I feel sorry as many may end up with the same problem with no repair services under warranty. NSW Fairtraiding is investigating this issue and company business.

Ebay has kindly reponded to supplier to comply with Australia Warranty regulations. Supllier has not responded yet. Hope the supplier understand Australia regulations and avoid selling Toshiba Laptops which are not registered nor have any Toshiba warranty in Australia. Toshiba checked my Laptop Model and advised it is an overseas product which does not have any warranty in Australia. WARNING TO ALL CUSTOMERS WHO ARE PURCHASING PRODUCTS ONLINE!!!!!!!!
