Why ebay is set up with paypal in such a way that allows and in a way invites crooks to operate?

I was defrauded, with the help of paypal, and now the only option is to get rid of ebay and paypal. When it comes to a dispute

paypal "experts" are useless.Looks like they are taken from a street to do their "job"

Paypal rely on ebay policies, Paypal policies, Australian law and on the information provided by the respective parties to make decisions.

If all of those things line up in your favour, appeal the decision they have made, supported by very clear and rationale evidence as to why they should reverse their decision and find in your favour.

I got a used, filthy camera instead of a brand new.The seller(crook) admitted to sending a second hand one in ebay emails.

When I lodged a case with paypal their "specialists" were asking me to go to a photo shop to confirm it was a used one.

I called them and asked them to check my emails. They said they did not have an access to my ebay emails.I looked like they wanted to delay the whole process. It is even hard to communicate with that mob and their timeframe to resolve any issue is set up in such a way that I believe they have some profit from delaying. As it is not the first time I lost money due to useless ebay practices I closed

the case believing that even if I sent the camera back I could end up with nothing. So for me the only option after eight years

is to say bye bye to ebay and paypal as they do not protect us from crooks looking only for themselves.

It can leave a sour case in your mouth when you are ripped off by an unscrupulous seller.

I don't seek to defend paypal or ebay for their processes - indeed i disagree with alot of their approach.

I can only suggest that before any one opens a claim they get all the evidence they need together - including scanning or pdf-ing ebay messages - in readiness in the 45 days you have to open a dispute - i think if it is a domestic sale if you can't get it together in the 45 days then no one can do anymore.

Once you open a dispute and escalate to a claim the timeframe does shorten, so you have to be prepared to act more quickly, to look after your best interests.

1.You were fortunate -you at least were able to deal with them face to face as you know what they "looked like".

2.Wonderfull turn of phrase you have-racism,abuse & denigating those you seek help from will always work!

3.What was the problem with taking it to a "photo shop"? Perhaps a camera shop would have been better.

4.I have filed two INR cases & calmly & concisely answered any questions posed-result was no response from sellers & funds refunded to my paypal a/c-one in three days & the other in eleven days -no problem!........Worked for me.........Even dealing with Ebay staff who did not have English as their first language!

Tuckcase, you must be working for them. For my money I do not need any help from anybody.Lucky for you to have something

resolved in three days.In my case they were setting dates close to a month. As it is not the first time I lost money with them

I simply close the accounts for good.Have a happy time with them.

If you 'don't need help from anybody' why are you seeking help in this forum? And yes you did have racist undertones in your reply. Why are you attacking someone who pointed this out and tried to help you?

There are a number of " prolific writers" so there is no point to argue anything. My original message was to alert people

to ebay and paypal practices which work only for them.I even have to wait 30 days before ebay,my master, allows me to

close their account. If you buy something you should get what you paid for and should be properly protected without the need

to wait for ages before you get any resolution.I will not comment anymore. It is pointless. For my money I do not expect "help"

I expect proper service. All the best to ebay buyers.I am already cured.
