I really don't know...but if you wash them perhaps the aroma will go away.

Hang them on the line. A good dose of sun will get rid of most odours. Or get them drycleaned.
Or, if you have allergy issues, don't buy sight unseen. Which means online. Use markets, Op shops or, horror, REAL shops.

I would try several washings.
But in the meantime, do as Davewill suggests and buy from other places, where you can check in person before you buy.
If you are still mad keen on using ebay for clothes, maybe, before you bid, question a seller first and explain your asthma etc

Use hypo allergenic washing liquid I do,it gets rid of smells and stops you from itching.
