Geeeeez love the description. Think I'd rather read War & Peace. ๐ On a serious note though, unfortunately you can't name & shame on here. The Mods will remove the ID soon.

Sellers can get 'defects' now for doing that (no longer want to sell the item or item out of stock) which effects their seller perfromance standards. Too many of those, will affect their ability to sell.
They still have to pay their FVF ebay fees as well ( unless a buyer agrees to cancel the sale).

WOW, that's one hell of a description!!! Sellers can't ask for more money after the item has sold and been paid for.
I personally would give him a negative feedback and a 1 star rating for each thing. If he sends a mutual cancellation, decline it. That way he will have to pay the final value fee on $1,000........which will be nearly $100.
I wouldn't mind betting he didn't get as much as he wanted for it.

I agree with sheep.
It's a bit tough when you pay straight away and they come back asking for more postage.
That is not fair.
It is their job to get the postage set before they list.

rickhoyoz,
You have had a "most unfortunate experience" where you bought and paid for the item but seller wanted more money for postage.
As you have refused that, he refunded your money.
As angry as you may be now - the seller isn't a crook.
Crook in my books is someone who cheats and appropriates other peoples property and /or money - without any intentions of return it.
And you should have paid him more for postage if that is in reality what the postage would have cost - and by now you'd have your item.
When I buy on Ebay, just like anywhere else - regardless of what Ebay's rules are - something either is or it isn't.
If I know and can verify that the postage is x amount - I'll pay it, after all it's not for the seller's gain, it's to get the item to my door.
And just where do you suggest we shop - " And find another place to shop online, Ebay is becoming a joke."
Everywhere else you'd strike the same situation, miscalculated postage, for example - and still won't get your item if you don't pay corrrect postage.
And, of course, f/back - that big wielding weapon dangling always over seller's heads is non existant anywhere else - so even that threat would be eliminated to compell seller's to post you anything with underpaid postage - no matter how the misquote occured in the first place.
And - ultimatelly - not many of us really want to be the cause of someone else loosing money on our account!
I think that attitude "I don't care, I paid my money and bad luck for the seller" somehow works in theory (easier said than done), but in practice we are all well aware what we are doing in relation to others - and it's not a very pleasant feeling.

Wrong, you pay the invoice price only.
If the seller mis quoted, tough tittie, not my problem, my bill is X i pay X, i don't expect to have to pay more than the invoiced price.

Oh my, your ability to nail the problem on the head and also solve it with very few choice words is formidable!
But - you force the seller to post it you - how?

The item is no longer listed . Perhaps they had a better offer and took that . In reality there isn't much you can do other then the feedback you have left .
Sometimes I wonder if things like this that don't work out are for the better , it shows at least that the seller isn't very scrupulous so who knows what else was wrong with it . That kind of printer would sell well with those in the know without putting it on ebay .
