Wont except my bid because of an overseas address but my primary address is Australia.

Hi I am trying to bid on an item but it wont action it saying seller wont sell to an overseas address. I have my address in Australia because that were I am. The other in the USA was when I bid on an item for my daughter as a present. Why cant I bid when I am in Australia and that is my primary address.  Regards Mark Colleran.

There's your answer. Some sellers won't post overseas.

Narelle is the Seller in Australia and you haven't changed your address back from USA --or  is the Seller overseas and your address is Australia?

If the former - you will need to go into your Personal details in your ebay account and change it.

If the latter - well if they don't post to here - they don't . Just find someone who will.

The OP is in Australia and wants to bid on an item from an Australian seller. However, they have previously used a US address to send a gift to daughter living there. That is how I read the opening post.

Mark - Is your Australian address selected as Registration Address and Primary Postage address? ( My eBay - Account - Addresses).

Go to delivery addresses under the account tab and add the US address, mark it as primary then go and bid on the item. The seller will only see the US address. Once the item has finished go back and mark your Australian adress as primary if that is the one you will be using next.

There is an ebay glitch that keeps throwing this up I have had a few buyers with this issue.

Ask the seller to go to My Ebay>account>buyer preferences> activity log> they will see your blocked bid with this reason and they can then select to remove buyer requirements for you. That should fix it.

I would suggest all sellers go do this check in the buyer preferences log to see if any buyers have been blocked by this glitch and they are unaware of it. Sellers are not informed when this block is enacted.

Hi ,Had to change address in personal details in Ebay .I thought I had to only change details in PayPal. Now if I want to bid on an item in the USA and send to my daughter in Texas, I will need to change details in Personal details in EBay. Good learning exercise got good response from Ebay in time to bid on the item and I won it, so very happy with outcome. Thanks to everyone involved, this is what makes Ebaying a pleasurable pastime.
