And not everyone lives near those shops to purchase the items.
There is a lot of outback buyers that use ebay to purchase what they do not have access too.
It is also up to the buyers to research before they purchase.

Exactly....I used to live over 200ks from the nearest large town and would have loved to have had ebay back in those days.
It would have cost me a lot more for fuel than what it would have cost for postage.

Plus a lot of stuff advertised here aren't available at your local B&M.
Horses for courses. There are a lot of things I would never contemplate buying here. Mainly because the primary sellers are scammers.

I don't think anyone ever said that ebay was the best or cheapest place to buy anything.
It is all about being able to shop all over the world at a time that suits you, and the convenience of having your purchases delivered to your door.
There are some things that should NEVER be bought on ebay especially if you want a warranty.

You expect every ebay seller to do a nation wide search for lowest price on every item they list?
Thats a buyers job, sellers job is to sell at a price it will sell for. There is no mandate that says Ebay items have to be cheapest available.
Many buyers these days just buy off Ebay for convenience without shopping around. much the way some buyers have favourite shops they buy from without shopping around.

So why don't you buy a few of them then sell them on ebay at a pre fee profit of $9 each?

I understand your comment fully, but it works both ways - there are also many items cheaper on eBay or other online sites than in B&M stores. Your statement is true about buyers being beware, but applies to any purchases anywhere.
I'm sure most people at some time, have found something selling cheaper than what they paid in any sort of environment - online or in a B&M store - That's life unfortunately.
Many people don't have the time, ability or access to the Internet, to be able to do the research to find the cheapest item they are wanting to buy.

Time is also a factor for many people these days. It takes a matter of seconds to buy online and then the product is delivered to you. Many of us don't have the time (nor inclination) to go shopping. My time is easily worth a few dollars.
