faulty item. seller supposedly sent replacement. never arrived

Having purchased a shockproof phone cover, receiving it only to find out it was faulty (broken glass ! ). I do what I think is the right thing and contact the seller, send photos as requested. They say they will send a replacement, waiting, waiting. Contact them again, very sorry will send it Asap, waiting, waiting. Contact them again, held up at customs, waiting, waiting. In the meantime, enough time has lapsed that I can no longer leave negative feedback, or as ebay has informed me take action to get a refund. In hindsight I see this seller knew this and was stringing me along the whole time, with no intention of replacing the item. What really hacks me off is this was a gift my 13 year old had bought with hard earned pocket money, not a great lesson to be learned. Being an honest person I naturally thought the reassuring responses from the seller were legitimate, only to be left with nothing. In future I won't hesitate to and will take any promises with a grain of salt. I suggest other buyers beware of this trap and do the same. Shame on the seller and shame on ebay, who after I contacted them gave me no help whatsoever.

While you may be out of time for ebays Money Back Guarantee - if you paid with Paypal then you have 180 days to file an Item not as described dispute.

Unfortunately there are some unscrupulous sellers out there who will try and string you along until out of claim time.

If you are within the 6 month period - log into Paypal and open the claim as above.

It wasn't very shockproof was it?

Open up a claim in Paypal if you can.
