It stayed after it was reinstated the second time, much to the seller's annoyance.
OP, if you are sure the feedback does not contravene the rules I would definitely contact ebay and ask why it was removed....tell them you would like it reinstated.
There has been a thread running on the boards about sellers whoseem to be able to get bad feedback removed whenever they want to.
It certainly makes a mockery of the whole system.
Thanks, good result and good to know.
But I thought in those other threads, the feedback kept being removed and didn't stay anyway after all the effort.

Yes kopes, the threads mentioned here are quite recent and the feedback is gone forever it seems.
My problem was several years ago and the seller was just contacting ebay and saying that I was lying so they removed the feedback.
I was just as adamant that I was not lying and kept getting it reinstated.

Why would people even care about it beats me.
I shop mostly on the sites where there is no f/back at all and manage quite fine, and on Ebay I don't even bother looking at the people's f/back - just look at the items I like or need.
Feedback isn't be the be all & end all and can be very subjective but I wouldn't say it is always useless. I am on other buying sites where I look for it. Mind you, it is specifically about the item, not the seller of course.
The feedback I find most useless on such sites is the star rating alone. The most useful is the comment section.
Although it is subjective, if I am looking at eg shoes, clothes, I like to know if the sizing runs big or small or what other buyers have found with the overall fit. I didn't buy a jacket once because person after person had commented that the sleeves were way too long, only suitable if you were very tall.
Comments like 'I love this" aren't all that helpful but specific details about an item can be.
