feedback time limits

I've only just concluded an international transaction and the feedback time limit has cut in. I want to leave top 5 star feedback to several vendors, and I can't. Is there some way I can give these deserved accolades to these good ebayers?

LOL if I put on your sellers hat, I'd say...

"Sure you can, just buy some more items from me and you'll have an all new opportunity to leave me that wonderful feedback you so graciously wish to bestow on me."

Glad to learn you had an excellent experience with an international seller. Smiley Happy

Sorry, I've never sold anything on ebay, and I will not be purchasing any more expensive items from these sellers. I have bought many, many things, even expensive things from Ukraine and Bulgaria but mostly cheaper stuff from Australia and China. I have always endeavoured to give fair feedback to all people I've bought from, but if you think it's a joke....

You have to have a sense of humour on these boards, the reply was tongue in cheek and meant no offence.

The answer to your question - put bluntly - Is no, you can no longer leave feedback.

Unfortunately you have misunderstood my meaning. In retrospect I can see that my post might appear a little ambiguous, however tbh when taken in context with your question I wouldn't have expected it to be so hard to understand.

I wasn't suggesting that you put on a sellers hat. I was suggesting that if I were to put on the hat of the seller you bought from (ie if that seller were here to answer it themselves) then I'm sure that I/they would be delighted at you really wanting to leave me/them genuinely good positive feedback. Because you are already past the time you can leave that feedback, the only way you could do so would be by your making a further purchase, thus enabling you to leave fresh feedback for me/them. Ofc it would be very much to my/their financial benifit for you to do so, so I/they would be especially grateful and appreciative if you were to do so, on both counts (the pos fb + $$s), hence my laying it on 'a bit thick' to emphasise that point. (also, I point out I had no way of knowing the sellers items were prohibitely expensive in order for me to realize such an option would be unlikely/infeasible)

And yes, as gc pointed out it was a tongue in cheek reply (thanks btw gc), it was however also half serious and was intended to be complimentary to you for your wanting to be such a good and conscientious buyer who actively wishes to give credit where credit is due.

Since as it turns out you are unable to recognize and take a compliment when it's given, and you are obviously also unable to take a joke even when it's offered in order to laugh with you & definitely wasn't an attempt to laugh at you;... you needn't worry about my offering you a compliment again any time soon.

As for my offering to laugh with you in the future, it's possible it may happen as I am generally a fairly forgiving soul & I do enjoy a good laugh... but before that happens you are going to need to get over yourself and demonstrate you actually do have a sense of humour. If you don't, then I make no promises as regards my not now laughing at you in the future.

To be honest, it's a bit rich you slapping someone for offering a good natured and light hearted reply when it's not even your thread (even if it was in reply to your question). Like I said, you need to get over yourself and turn that frown upside downSmiley Wink

feedback time limits

Thanks for the headsup, guys, please put my cranky response down to being an old geezer with a throat infection that is hanging on and giving me the tom **bleep**. I did misunderstand this forum, and thought it was just a dry source of info. I understand the ebay rule of a sixty-day cutoff for feedback. Could be extended with benefit and little cost, I believe.
I had a somewhat similar experience a while back where some packages from the UK were "lost" as deemed by Royal Mail. This deeming occurs around 46 days late (they use working days, so its depend ๐Ÿ™‚ Now the ebay cuttoff for a dispute initiation is 45 days.
I also had my package from Bulgaria delayed to almost 45 days, so should I start a dispute when 45 days approaches, even though Royal Mail has not deemed the package lost? Did I read somewhere that they had extended this deadline to six months?
So because a seller ignored my request for delaying postage for 25 days to avoid delivery while we were overseas, and the package got stolen because Australia Post ignores the signature bull**bleep** and dumps the package on your doorstep, I missed the 45 day deadline before I realised that it was so late, and was left at the mercy of a newbie seller who told me it wasn't his fault, fight it our with Australia Post. No help from Ebay because of their unrealistic 45 day cutoff for slow international deliveries.
Anyways, sorry for the poor start, cheers, John

Hi John, thanks for your explanation, it's appreciated & I can now understand the situation leading to your being a bit short previously... I'm sure we've all been there & will all be there again at some point.

I do hope the throat is a bit better & is well on the mend.

With Paypal claims you have 45 days to open a dispute, you then have a further 20 days after opening it in which to escalate it to a claim. As you mentioned that's about to change to 180 days as of November 18th.

As of November 1st eBays 30 day money back guarantee also has come into effect. It allows you 30 days from the date you receive the goods to seek ebays help for INAD  For INR I believe it's 30 days from the maximum date quoted in the listing for the delivery estimate.

Like it wasn't confusing enough before with just the one time limit to remember huh?Smiley Wink

cheers

all good, just need a real tough skin and OPEN minded sense of humour here.

Most of the regulars know each other, (or of each other) so we know who means what, and modest is lovely.
