how do you know if a private listing seller isn't bumping up the price ???

Hi everybody

Could somebody explain how sellers have private listings and is it possible for the seller to bump up the price as its not possible to see bidders IDs ? ONE SELLER KEEPS RELISTING THE SAME ITEMS OVER AND OVER ???

Looking forward to a answer . Cheers

I don't see how that can be possible when the one and only person who can see the genuine IDs of the bidders is the seller. To everybody else watching, the IDs are encoded by ebay so that it's impossible for them to know who's bidding against you, and this applies with all auctions, not just those where the item is private.

But all bidders, once the auction is finished, can find out the winning ID by conducting an advanced search on their own ID (unless it was a private listing).

Once the auction is over and after the winning bidder and the seller give each other feedback you can then compare the buyers feedback score with the auction item thus enabling you to see the buyers ID,I know every bidders ID that I am bidding against unless they are private of course.
