is it worth letting Australia Post know?

Today amongst the delivery of my ebay purchases was a parcel for someone else.

Someone else in the house took delivery of them so they were waiting for me when I got home.

Anyway I thought I would just deliver the other parcel to the correct recipient (same road but a

number of houses away - name or number is NOT similar to ours). As the parcel was an

Australia Post 3kg red satchel should I be letting Australia Post know or just let it go? I thought

these items normally had to be tracked? And I am not sure WHO to contact, am unable to

phone out at the moment and I don't think they always answer questions on their facebook page??

I am not sure how reliable or how up to date the tracking is kept but if this had happened to me I

would not be impressed.

No need to make a drama out of it.....just give it to the addressee.  It is up to them to decide whether they want to follow it up.

Or you could just give it back to the PO or contractor, but it will take longer for the addressee to receive it.

I DID actually deliver it to the correct address this arvo. Just didn't know whether I should ALSO bring this to the attention of AP.....

(given that we are sometimes reading about things not being received or 'said' to be delivered but addressee has denied it. I can now see a reason these things might be happening......).

Also didn't know asking a question on these boards equated to 'drama'

I see your point chezzy - a not so 'honest' buyer can now quite easily claim INR.

I doubt contact with AP will do you much good, so just hope your good samaritan action has been for a buyer of equal conscience and decency as you.

I don't see this as drama seeking, I have also on occasion done similar - found an evelope on the ground, stamped etc, and popped it in the mail box, wouldn't expect to get fried for it - seriously LOL

Perhaps I should have just typed a one liner, then it wouldn't seem so dramatic? lol

"parcel delivered to me meant for someone else nearby, I walked it up to them, do AP need to know from a tracking perspective?"
