postage charges in checkout gone 'skewiff-if-iff'!!

....is it just me or has anyone else noticed how checkout is charging HEAPS MORE for post charges lately......and the button 'REQUEST A TOTAL POST CHARGE' seems to have gone on vacation too......??

when I complained to a recent seller that the 'request a total postage' button was missing from my invoice :

BUT I am used to a 'button' that is usu. on the checkout/invoice that states'request post total'.....so why wasn't this button there or made avail for me to thereby request a combined post total?
All seems a wee bit strange......

the seller replied :

Hi, there
I am not sure why.
Recent couple days, several of my international buyers complained in various changes in ebay.
Like you found out the missing button...
Some buyers have been forced to pay to complete their orders...

I guess ebay is changed something.

The request total is still there, just moved and a little smaller.

Appears after you select pay, then request total.

Don't know about the postal charges.

Yes......?! so exactly where on the screen is this 'it's still there....but smaller' REQUEST A TOTAL button pls ref. an invoice

I searched in same scenario with two different sellers on 2 seperate transactions within same hour......and thar woz no buttoon

It appears that the Request Total button in NOT there if it is a one item purchase and the postage is in the listing OR if the seller has already updated the invoice to the correct postage.
