removal of feedback?

Hello people,

I won an auction for a bundle of video games on thursday,  the seller sent an invoice to include shipping and was ok with being paid the following day.  I received a cancelation request on the item the following day from the seller saying that they have changed there mind and want to keep the games.  I declined the cancellation and advised that I would be reporting him to ebay and leaving a negative to which he replied that if I did that he would do the same to me (feedback manipulation?) And get his removed.  I have contacted ebay to report him and to get my feedback removed but apparently they wont remove the feedback he left me as it is "him telling his side of the story".  If I have done nothing wrong and this halfwit has done everything wrong is there anything else I can do? I was under the assumption that you cant leave negative feedback in the positive section...

He sounds like a twit anyway.  He obviously didn't get the $$ he / she wanted. BAD LUCK. He goes straight to my "Special List "

Interestingly horizon the seller has somehow made their feedback private - I thought you could only do that if you were a buyer only................hmmmm.

The sellers feedback left for you has been removed now.

The seller won't get his ebay fees refunded (needs to have buyer agree to cancellation for that) and will probably get a defect in his seller performance standards for cancelling a sale and not sending the item to you (buyer).

They can make their feedback private if they no longer have any items listed. If later, they want to sell some more items, they have to change their fb status back to public first.

Once you refused the cancellation request it would have been better to have no more correspondence with the seller, it is never a good idea to make any mention of feedback in an email. Doing so certainly isn't going to make then any more likely to honour the sale. I would have waited a couple of weeks then have left a factual neg. As I don't know what you said in your feedback I don't know what grounds there were for removal but presumably something was not as it should be.

You can not threaten to leave a seller negative feedbck in your messages which OP had done so a seller can easily request ebay to remove any feedback left by a buyer.

Pretty sure i am not in the wrong.  When customer service told me they werent going to remove it apparently they thought i was the seller.  I didnt threaten to leave a neg.  I stated that I would be leaving a neg.  I had by this stage realized that he was not going to come good with the auction so I wasnt trying to get him to still follow through with the sale.  Funnily enough he set his to private as soon as I left mine i am presuming to get it removed as he taunted me that he would.  Amusing that after he has acted the way he has, he has sent me a feedback revision request.  Lol, yeah right...

The best part about the feedback he left being removed is, you got to keep the green dot!!!

I would guess he didn't get as much as he wanted for those games. Compared to the others he sold, there was quite a lower end price. I bet they will reappear soon. I'm surprised he sold any of his stuff given his descriptions.
