HI, my I have been offered a second chance offer as the winning bidder retracted their offer, my query is though, my automatic bids increased only due to this winner increasing their bid, but seeing as they retracted their bid, it would seem fair that I am offered the item at the price of my first bid that was higher than the winner, any info would be appreciated

Hi there, I'd be looking somewhere else, sounds like you were pushed along with your bids to me, then they offer it to you as the winning bidder pulled out......yes, yes, we know all about that. Caught a few times too, but never took up the offer.

It should of reverted back to your price.

thanks everyone, so am I correct to assume it should've been offered at the price of the highest bid I made that was higher than the winning bidder made? As winning bid was $3600, my last bid was $3550, but only raised to this amount due to the winning bidder continually raising their bid, then retracting after auction ended, my bid of $2025 was the bid I made that was higher than the winner, and would've stayed at this if they didnt continue bidding higher.

nah, you can't assume that.
The buyer has only renegged on their final bid amount.
for this kind of money, maybe go down the path of shill bidding iof this is what you suspect, but time consuming and difficult and edxpensive to prove.
it is your last price offered that has been accepted
the seller is under no obligation to extend you an offer on a lower price
if you bid $3,550, you must have been prepared to pay this amount and this is what you did offer and what the seller is prepared to accept.

Avoid this sort of offer. The system should be set up to remove all bids from a non paying or retracting bidder but it's not.
It is too easy for dodgy sellers to manipulate, and has been this way for as long as second chance offers existed.
