Ok, so the sellers list price was pretty cheap, it was a superceeded model so i thought what the heck and purchased it.
The seller marked the item as sent, with a tracking number of which i followed carefully. On the due delivery date, through Australia post app, i was able to see that the name and address for the item to be delivered to was incorrect (different name, same street, different number) This information dissapeared from the Austpost app once the item was marked as delivered, and you guessed it, the item never came to my address. I checked feedback of the seller, and surely enough half a dozen others with the same issue, placed negative and angry feedback comments, and another 30 minutes later the seller made their feedback private.
Now, i am out of pocket and without my item, yet it was marked by Australia post as delivered. What am I to do?? Appears this might be a new scam, i really hope not too many others were burned like me - wish me luck trying to get my money back !!

Open a case for INAD.
Then the seller will need to send you a return label.
Put the label on a box and pack it with newspapers and a printed out copy of criminal prosecutions on fraudulent activity or the like.
(But make the box and contents approx the same weight your item would be)
The tracking should show the returned item to get a refund.
If he contests the box not having the item, eBay may side with the buyer or at the very least you have made him pay more for the return postage and taken a lot of his time. If he scammed you, my guess he won't bother to contest it.

If you go to your Post Office they should be able to give you a print-out of the original delivery details, you can then scan that and email it to eBay under an "item Not Received" dispute with the MBG.
I had a seller do the same thing to me and got my money back quickly.
Edit. If you don't have a scanner then just take a photo of the print-out and upload that.
G'day Kopes................

The seller has no protection if they didn't send to the address that showed when you went through checkout. If you took a screenshot you should be able to upload it if/when you do an item not received claim. I'd ring ebay before you do anything else but select the option to have them call you.
Have you knocked on the door of the house in the street that it was delivered to? They probably got an empty satchel and unless they've binned it and the rubbish has been collected I'm sure they'd be pretty happy to hand it over as evidence.

Be sure to leave appropriate feedback before the time expires to do so.
It sounds like the seller deserves all the negatives he can be given.

You can also report them to Acorn if the seller is in Aus:
