eBay had gremlins on the weekend starting Friday August 23
In August, 10, 17, 24 & 31 were all Saturdays.
August 21 was a Wednesday, and to my knowledge, there were no gremlins on that day.

If you committed to buy the items you should pay for them....and if they are showing in your list of item waiting for payment then you have bought them.
You can ask the sellers for a mutual cancellation but they are not obliged to do it.
Ebay is not a game and you should pay for what you buy.

If there was a glitch and you purchased elsewhere as a result then I would contact both the sellers and ebay immediately. As has been said, Ebay is not a game and you should pay for what you buy, but neither is it a failsafe process and things do go wrong. I would not pay based on the situation you have described because you were advised the item was not avaliable. You need to pull out all your communication skills and start sorting it out.

This situation has arisen before...the buyers were adamant that the goods were out of stock but it proved that they had bought the remaining items and when they looked at the listing again it did indeed say that the items were out of stock.
If in doubt the buyer should check their Purchases before going off and buying elsewhere. The OP has stated that the items are now awaiting payment so he obviously did buy them the first time.

All true Lyndal unless there really was an ebay glitch. The buyer can only work with what ebay provides at any given time.

How far did you get with the purchase procedure before ebay said they were unavailable? How did you know they were unavailable?

He/she obviously purchased the items and then recieved an email from ebay saying they were not available. So why would it be unreasonable to purchase else where from someone who has the items? The OP has done nothing wrong that I can see here.

Looking at the listing it shows that you purchased the last 2 of the connectors on the 24th so you definitely made the purchase.
As you purchased the last 2 available on that listing ebay would have then ended the listing and changed to quanity to show none being available so if you went back into the listing it would show them as not available.
The item purchased email you received from ebay would have shown 0 available as you had purchased the last ones which would have ended the listing.
This is a common error buyers make when they have purchased the last ones available.
As Lyndal said - the best place to check whether or not your purchase has gone through is by checking your purchase history rather than checking the actual listing.
