why when I search for Australia only do I end up with overseas items?

Please help - I am sick to death of searching for items located in Australia and ending up with Sellars who say they are located in Australia, or products that are located in Australia but clearly are not... obviously when I am searchin for something online and I choose to buy an item that is already in Australia, I expect to pay in Australian dollars and have my item deliverd in the timeframe provided.

I ordered a guitar stand at the beginning of the month, says item is located in Sydney with a 2 week delivery timeframe, now the end of the month and no item??  When I email the supplier they ask for my address to rectify the problem - hello!!! you already have my address with original order - when I look further into the sellar - guess what they are located in Hong Kong yet there item is supposedly located in Australia.

Come on ebay sureley with all the technology available your site could be a little more truthful in showing actual location of items and suppliers.

This is a constant whinge lament. A search of the boards will show numerous current or bumped threads about it. Now we have another one. Read them and you will know as much as the rest of us about it.

eBay aren't going to do anything about it.

What YOU can do is check the sellers' locations BEFORE buying. While some foriegn sellers keep stock in Australia most don't.

A clue would be 2 week delivery. Even to remote WA, fantasy postage times used by eBay would be well less than that.

Open an INR case, get your money back and try again.

Annoying yes. The same reason interstaters keep buying pick up only items from me (just had an offer for such an item, got them to confirm they live in Perth and can collect. Nope Sydney!). Because they have a motive and ebay isn't going to do anything about it because they snare fees

They snare fees sometimes I mean, or most of the time from Chinese sellers

when you search Australia Only......it means that you get sellers that sell to Australia.

search Australia Only > distance nearest.....that could help you

I think you'll find that's not actually correct. It seems to show sellers who are registered on our site (Au ebay). I just did a search for a random common item, rubbish bags, changed it to 'price + postage cheapest' hence bringing the Chinese sellers to the top lol then filtered to Australia only and the Chinese sellers who are registered in China or displaying that on their listings, their listings disappeared from my search. Still left the ones who lie about their location unfortunately but weeded out about 3000
