A variation or an error coin?

I was going to list some 2000 fifty cent pieces in a bulk lot including a incussed version but then on looking closer

at two of the Royal visit ones I notice that they are raised? or the surrounding area lower?

I can't find anything on them so a known variation or an error coin?

tazz, if you are referring to the graphic being raised, that's the norm.

If you google images for this coin you will see they are all raised.Smiley Wink

The only ones I come across on the net are flat (the flag ones are raised but the Royal visit ones are flat except

for the actual raised graphics).

There is only one out of the lot that's raised and then pretty roughly:

The coins I have there is a raised circle 3 to 4 mm from the edge (I have 5 others that show no sign of that edge).

Did the close up and it's an error coin.good.gif

If you look at this one you can see on the raised bits at the bottom that there is some sort of damage from the

die when it was stamped.

This it the standard version that is flat except for the graphics.
