I'm having no luck posting pictures, but if you wouldn't mind looking at these on photobucket, I'm trying to identify this vase, about 30cm tall and heavy. The green is very bright in sunlight and might be uranium, but I've mislaid my blacklight at the moment
Thanks for any help or comments. ๐

Spot on, lakeland. Thanks very much.
When I saw it in the Oppie I thought Whitefriars but as soon as I saw the base I changed my mind.
it's still a very nice vase, just not an OMG
Thanks

You wouldn't want to pay the postage cost on this little darling. It weighs heaps! ๐

i bet it does, and you are correct about my reluctance to pay for postage ๐

Great page, showed quite a few fakes that I have wondered about.

i wouldn't consider some of those fakes yamada, oldwordladys vase is roughly the same age as the whitefriars, as are some of the others. 'wrongly attributed' maybe.
i might as well add one myself as i see them in the italian art-glass section.' Amalfi ' branded glass. sold in my local chemist shop giftware section. made in china.

Chinese are making a lot of art glass which guestimated in an op shop turns out to be the wrong bet. Took a few bad bets to wise up. The other which has been really underestimated is japanese art glass. They made some lovely retro stuff.
