Holmegaard Decanter Set?

Hi Everyone, I have a vintage hand blown decanter set that looks to be in the style of Holmegaard, however it's very ornate and not signed - I can't find anything similar on the net, any ideas of the maker? Thanks

Holmegaard Decanter Set?

It does look like Holmegaard, kluk kluk bottles. But I have never seen Holmegaard to be ornate as this is.

I would imagine to be others that have used the pinched design also.

Are those engraved initials?

Yes, it has A J G initials (all on top of each other) on the decanter...

Holmegaard Decanter Set?

Appear to be the initials of someone that was presented this as a gift.

I haven't had time to look at this site but maybe worth a try - http://www.20thcenturyglass.com/glass_encyclopedia/scandinavian_glass/holmegaard_glass/holmegaardgla...

The glasses remind me of Holmegaards snaps glass, but once again too ornate.

I think it is coincidental the design has a similar style to Holmegaard.

I would agree that it is too ornate to be Holmegaard - I am sure a lot of people copied the waisted kluk kluk design. Those applied raspberry "blobs" are called prunts - common on Czech and Bohemian glass.

My thoughts also siddie, the design looking like eastern european.

And anything quality, you would steer towards Czech.

Thanks for your replies! I haven't seen a set that has so many similarities to Holmegaard before
