Homemade pottery or store bought?

l seriously hate trying to read names on the bases of things.

This small pot - any guesses if its something home crafted or a store bought. All it has is the writting on the bottom and part of a date maybe?

Starts with R and ends in d, U or L,  but isn't Richmond or Richard.

Numbers end in 81 so 1981?

Any ideas?

Any idea of value? l've just spent the last half hour looking at remued pottery and cannot find this shaped one.

(which means its either very rare or very unpopular....l'm leaning toward unpopular).

Think l will just run it on an auction. There is only so many web sites l can stare at that have lots of wishy washy green/brown/bone bits of pottery on them.

Did you Google Remued Pottery

I'd add the link only someone on this board seems to take great delight in dobbing me in every time I do.

281 (Early Series)  It's a sweet dish with handle; shallow basket with wavy lip.

Thats the only one page l could find with it on (thus where l got the auction words from because they sounded better than 'butt ugly small vase with handle').

There was one other page with a photo of a closed auction of the same piece but you had to pay to view the results of the auction. Pfft.
