You will have noticed that I am unusally excited about something, weeelll we are having babies - baby birds that is.
Last year the OH built and installed the latest model in bird nesting boxes in the two palm trees in the back yard. We had a fair amount of birds inspect them, but until this year none of them took up residence. We now have a pair of Pale Headed Rosellas in one box, and they have two eggs. Yeeeee Haaaar we are gunna be grandparents.
Will keep you posted.
Wilma
Bet you thought we had found a black koala master bowl?

Or maybe you're having triplets not twins?

Oh Dear - that doesn't sound good Wilma. 😞 Are you able to tell at all if the new eggs are the same size & colour?? Reason I ask is that Cuckoos will destroy eggs, lay their own and then FFFF off to leave the unlucky parents to raise interlopers. I hope that's not the case with yours and that you will soon have Grandchicks 🙂

Guess what? We are Grandparrots.
At long last our baby parrot/s have arrived. Don't know how many, but at least one, I can hear noises coming from the nest box.
Small dog alerted me to the fact that something had happened, she sits under the tree, looking up quite intently, and having a little bark when she hears noises.
OH saw one of the parents in the box yesterday, appeared to be head down and tail up, like it was feeding something.
I just wish I had a 'spy camera" in the nest so I could see what is happening without disturbing the contents.
Will keep you informed.
Wheeee Haaar, we are Grandparrots.
Wilma.
