Hi - in amongst some very old antique vintage pens pencils (which I have listed on my buddy id) and some not as old found this - may be silver plate says schrader australia any idea if this could be a type of ink well - or perhaps only the top of an old screwdriver!
also pictured is an old pen with the vittoria pen nib and and the dib? on the cow bone holder ?? could it be ivory? how to tell.
any idea of value or info would be helpful thanks

I think you are probably right about the Schrader thingie - they seem to make valves and other tool-like things. I think the Australian Pen Museum is still at Wagga - the gentleman who runs it is very helpful - he used to buy on eBay and I have sold to him in the past. There used to be an on-line video where he walked you through the exhibits - if you can find it, you may see something similar. I think you probably mean a "dip" pen. Obviously once dip pens and nibs were EXTREMELY common - I have found in the past they have to be something quite extraordinary (like precious metal, or very unusual design) to be worth very much.

it's not an inkwell.
I collect small 'travel' inkwells, it would have to have 2 closures to be a well. the top one looks like bone handled, the lower one is erhaps a travel pen that fits inside the other piece for transporting, then clips on th back to make a longer, easy to handle pen

thanks putney ...and all
re the bone handled one, I can't sell it on ebay right, even tho it was likely made prior to the ban....ivory is a kind of bone.....cow bone perhaps?

Of course you can sell "bone" on eBay - you are not allowed to say "ox bone" any more, as this is seen as a pseudonym for i**ry. I always say "animal bone of some sort, possibly cow".
