Hello All, was hoping someone may be able to help me identify this huge jug/pitcher I have. It is cobold blue in colour with a bronze swan pattern. I think the pattern was once gold as there is a small patch where there was a sticker at some stage & it is a bright gold colour. Jug stands 24cms in height. Any advise at all is greatly appreciated as I know nothing at all about it.
I have put a piece of green cloth in the photo so you can see the pattern. Not the best pics sorry.
Thank you
Tina

Don't know who made it, but could your swan be a lyrebird?

Hi Wyven, I just had another look & it is definitely a swan. It is sitting on water & has the long neck a swan has. Cheers

Hi Yodablu - lovely pitcher.
I know you said that the design looks gold in colour but the photo's look like tarnished silver. If you have a silver cloth give it a rub and see if the colour changes. I have a pair of bud vases similar and it is a silver overlay. Don't rub too hard though - it is generally quite thin. Bristol perhaps as possible makers, though that is only a guess. Do you have the matching glasses? I would have thought it would have been made as a Lemonade set. Very collectable, let me know if you list it.

i think its italian or czech in origin. i have a few bud vases etc with silver decoration, one vase has an 'Italy' sticker and i think most of these are italian in origin.. the bohemian/ czech makers did this kind of thing in silver too though.

Hi Rebecca, I think you are correct, now that I have had a better look ( with my glasses on) where the original sticker was it is definitely a silver colour not gold. I bought this years ago at the markets & only picked it up because it reminded me so much of 1 my Gran had when I was young & its my fav colour. I dont have the glasses unfortunately. I will be listing it shortly & will let you know once I have. Thank you so much for your help.
