Are the S&C stamps like any of these?

The shield mark could be for Chester Assay Office - does the g look like any of these? It would indicate the year it was made.

It would be of course 9ct gold.

Hi

Can anyone tell me when Barcs used the B inside a shield with the crown on top symbol. I am attempting to identify the approximate year a Barcs buch of grapes brooch and earrings were made. Numbered C339

According to their website Barcs began in 1948. I have sold a lot of Barcs jewellery over the years, the mark you describe is the standard one. The numbering system would have had some relevance to the factory - all the Barcs I have seen had a design number. Their heyday would probably have been mid 60s to end of 1980s - I have seen Barcs retailed by all the major department stores, like DJs, Farmers, Grace Bros. Probably the style of the jewellery would be your best bet of trying to date it. But I doubt you could get closer than a 20 year guesstimate.
