Held hostage by eBay app promotion

I can't use eBay for anything at the moment. Can't search. Can't buy. Can't do anything.  I am using a windows PC. Every time I open an eBay page a pop up comes along nagging me to add the eBay app to my phone.

I click the x button to close it and page freezes. Totally unresponsive.

I have  tried different browsers without add-ons. Nothing works.

It keeps telling me promotion will end in 3 days. It's been telling me 3 days for over a week.

EBAY - I don't want your app. You are losing sales here. What an idiotic decision you have made..

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Maybe try clearing cache and cookies then rebooting your computer. Have you tried a different browser ?

eBay are unlikely to read here, it is a member to member forum 

Not had the issue with eBay, get it constantly with other sites though

I used to get this regularly and I can't remember if I hit escape or blocked popups on the browser.

In the past I've "x'd" off the annoying popup. Just lately I've been ignoring it altogether and hitting the "My Ebay" button on the menu bar.

Most times it goes away, if it suddenly returns when I change pages, I ignore it again and get on with whatever I logged in to do.

Got to the point I don't really notice, like swatting away a fly.

Yep have tried a different browser. I'll try clearing cookies and cache next and see if that helps. Thanks for your suggestion.

I have an adblocker which also blocks popups.

No issues here.
