109-year-old woman reveals avoiding men is the secret to a long life

Jessie Gallan holds the prestigious title of oldest living woman in Scotland. At 109-years-old, many have wondered the secret to her longevity.

Ms Gallan was more than happy to tell, revealing to Daily Mail: “My secret to a long life has been staying away from men. They're just more trouble than they're worth.”

The centenarian celebrated her 109th birthday at her Aberdeen care home with a slice of cake.

“I also made sure that I got plenty of exercise, eat a nice warm bowl of porridge every morning and have never gotten married.”

Come on! She lives in Aberdeen! She's not really 109 she just feels like it 

My grandma, who died at 101, when asked the secret of old age said "well if you keep on breathing it just happens" 🙂

There was a wonderful 101 year old on Sunrise recently. She did a squat for each of her 101 years.

She mentioned wonderful family and they all laughed when she screwed her nose up at healthy food like salad and fruit.

Bread and potatoes it was 

But I don't think she drank or smoked.

A woman from Mexico celebrated what was believed to be her 127th birthday on Sunday, making her the world's oldest living person.

Leandra Becerra marked the occasion with her grandson's family in Zapopan, western Mexico. She has lived with his family for the last five years.

Her grandson, Samuel Alvear, said he was told that Ms Becerra's original birth certificate was burnt during the Mexican revolution of 1910 to 1917.

Ms Becerra was issued with a new birth certificate in 2009 after an investigation of 20th century electoral documents by the government.

The document states her date of birth as August 31 1887.
