Good for you!!!  I think marriage is like life, a series of concentric circles.

Sometimes they overlap (and you and your partner do); or just barely connect, and sometimes they drift a long way apart. 

Hopefully, the former is much more than the latter, but I guess most of us still are quite often in the 'barely connect' phase. 

Its a journey hey?  Anyone who says its ALL good, is probably deluded.

We have been married 40 years last February; and there are still days when both of us think we want separate houses, lives; I would never be smug about it.  But while the good times greatly outnumber the bad, then you keep trying to get from barely to overlapping. 

And sometimes, accidentally and with no design to it, you realise that the battle can be quite a lot of fun; and its 100% worth the effort.

I think of you and your mum from time to time.  I hope things getter better this year and mum gets her freedom.  Keep  your chin up.

Happy Anniversary Amy, im so pleased you are staying with your husband. Some seem to give up so easily these days. My hubs and i have had a cple of rocky patches, but are still best friends and lovers after 20 yrs together.
