24 Hour Poetry Competition - Subject: Home and Garden

OK, another poetry competition ... original poems welcomed, poems written by others are accepted.

The winner will be decided by kudos received, there will be also be a Judge's Prize decided by the judge.  The judge is ME.

I hate my little unit,

The layout is quite stupid

The sound of traffic going past

Might make me quite insane at last.

The neighbours mow their lawns

At seven in the morns

And all of them choose a different day

To take my sleep away.

To all those missing their Fathers today.

Dad in the garden
Tomatoes growing red
Carrots, potatoes,
And cauliflower heads.

Dig the soil,
Feel it flow
Gently through your hand
Love the land that makes things grow.

Green beans, sun warmed
Bees buzz, worms writhe,
Knee high to my father
I learned.

To talk and to weed,
To think and to seed,
To question and plant,
To prune and to plan.

Like your gardens, I've grown,
And, my memories are clear
Of the time that we spent
In the gardens each year.

Missing you, Dad, and Happy Father's Day.

Here's two-

--------------------------------------------------------------------

hopelessness the end is near

with my head hung low I shed a tear.

with our eyes wide open we can't tell

that we're killing our earth that we're killing ourselves

that we're killing all our children's health.

could this really be God's plan?,

the end of earth the end of man.

maybe start the whole thing all over again.

the end of John the end of Beth,

the end of Tim the end of Jeff.

the end of air the end of rain

the end of moutains and desert plains

. . . . . . . . . . many millions of years later . . . . . . .

as the grass starts to grow and flowers start to bloom,

sunlight puts an end to darkness and gloom.

this planet draws energy from the star's bright light

then creates many diffrent forms of life.

there are two laws of nature not seen on any road sign,

we all must be born and we all must die.

between all that theres nothing but time,

for us to make our mark for others to find.

to keep the fire burning an eternity of light.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

sanity she hides from me and I can't find her anywhere.

reality is lost to me just out of reach up in the air.

theres clairty in conformity because no one knows what lies beound.

simplicity and complexity like the layers in a frozen pond.

when you turn the page can you smell a change because nothing ever stays the same.

ain't it such a shame tell me whos to blame as we all go up in flames.

what of the things we've worked so hard to gain

and of the living we've tried so hard to sustain.

so many dying denying in a world thats most insane

as we all go up in flames.

sanity still hides from me i've been searching for many days.

no where on a planet that lies in ruins think its somewhere in the flames.

--------------------OK another one-----------------

lost in an endless void of nothingness.

looking for a hint of something I can touch or someone I can trust.

to no avail what is this 7734?, in what direction should I travel

I tug on a string and my whole life unraveled.

as my time runs out in my mind's eye knowing

I could reach my destenation if I knew where I was going.

so many of us try to live forever

not realizing that death might be better.

too scared to die tell me would you rather

stay trapped in this life imprisoned in your cadaver?

it may be ok for a hundred years or so

but what would you do where you go?

a life once exiting slowly becomes a boar

your spirit unhappy unable to soar.

if death equals heaven and thats paridise

would you give up that gift could you pay that high price?

to live forever you thought you we're clever

as time goes on you know you've been conned.

Weeds are in the garden,

Weeds are in the lawn.

Weeds are in the flower beds

knee high long.

Snails are munching spring bulbs

bugs just ate my peas.

Aphids in the rose bush and

spiders in the trees.  Aaargh!

----------------- trek metal song -------------------

demilitarized zone!, I call it hell some call it home.

i'm part of the Mackiee, because Bajorans want to be free.

we'll be comin out of badlands, killing Cardassians!..

hide some explosives in an astorid,

three gallor class ships destroyed.

beemed over a Cardasian gull

he was covered in blood with a fractured skull

dying a slow and horrorable death

giving up shild frequencys with his last breath.

now gallor class ships hiding amoung the stars

will be attacked with the spirit of a Gym-Hadar.

so don't be bound by Federation's rules.

Starfleet is lame the Mackiee is cool.

like Edington that dude was smart,

fooled Sisco and played his part.

head of security (Deep Space Nine)

then betrayed their trust with his terrorists crimes.

---------------------- voices in my head ----------------------

(hearing hearing hearing hearing

voices voices voices voices

inmy inmy inmy inmy head head head head.

hearing hearing voices voices inmy inmy head)

it's a secret, that everyone knows.

oh it's a truth, that constantly lies

and it's a liquid a fluid that stays dry

don't ask me how because I don't know why.

enjoy it now while your still alive.

oh my God i'm freaking out

hearing voices coming from no mouth.

oh my God without a doubt, i'm freaking out!..

(hearing hearing hearing hearing

voices voices voices voices

inmy inmy inmy inmy head head head head.

hearing hearing voices voices inmy inmy head)

it's a test, that no one passes or fails.

and it's a rest, that leaves you tired as 7734 .

it stays fresh, but quickly gets very stale.

I really care, but then I say "oh well"

(hearing hearing hearing hearing

voices voices voices voices

inmy inmy inmy inmy head head head head.

hearing hearing voices voices inmy inmy head)

oh my God i'm freaking out hearing voices coming from no mouth.

oh my God without no doubt, i'm freaking out!..

it's a secret, oh it's a truth, and it's a test, but what the hell?, fresh !

--------------------------- skelital remains .. PBS Stonehinge ----------------

archelogisists in search of history's truth, dug up something strange.

corpses all dried out marred charred and tattoed, with old bloodstains.

they examine the bodies to find who they we're when they lived and how they died.

they had carbon dating done on the bone fragments, so they could decide.

we're these people tourchard did they suffer severly or feel any pain?

but all they really had to go on was the skelital remains..

"AAAHHHH!", skelital remains!

and some residue left, from what might have been a brain.

"AAAHHHH!", they'll never be the same!

just rancid flesh decaying upon skelital remains ...

----------------------- havoc on your soul -------------------

I am reaking lots of havoc in the world of the living

always taking what lifes giving sometimes losing sometimes winning.

yes i'm reaking tons of havoc in the world of the living

and gonna keep on reaking havoc until I die.

I am havoc for your souls

your words bounces off me and there it goes.

the ocean waves and the river flows

my name is havoc for your souls.

in my lungs, life is breathing. in my heart, life is beating.

in my vains, life is flowing. in my brain, life is knowing.

there's only two days left in 2002, in 2003 we will run out of food.

or maybe not but for all we know, havoc is being rot on our tourchared souls...

Except that in my case the snails have started crawling up the walls of the house - I think they are planning to invade during the night and murder us all in our beds.
