Cops killing for no good reason. We're hearing this all the time in the U.S.. It often seems like a very fine line between the good guys and the bad guys. It's a very blurry line. And that, in itself, is pretty scary.

More and more it seems to me that the people in govt, along with the country's top business leaders are coming to be seen as the bad guys and not the good guys they should be (and hold out to be).

(Hi godsandmen. good to see you posting here again. 🙂 )

A month or so ago, Medford, Oregon police officers shot an killed a man after an 18 hour standoff, when he opened fire on them.  Yesterday a grand jury, after testimony from almost 2 dozen witnesses found the shooting justified.  The perp was lying prone on his garage floor and shooting through a one foot gap........and there's STILL idiots demanding to know why they didn't just shoot the gun out of his hands.  And, naturally we have our own set of J's who insist it was a case of police brutality.

One time, I don't see what you have stated has got to do with the clear evidence of this case where an unarmed man was shot eight times in the back while running away and the cop then trying to frame him with his tazer

Simple........I was replying to the posts above, demonstrating that not all police departments are staffed with kill-crazy thugs...you have a problem with that?

they 'thought' the 12 year old had a gun didn't they?

The boy in Cleveland?, he did have a toy gun stuck down in his waistband, When the cops drove up fast through the park grass, and stormed out of their car, the boy pulled up his shirt to show that the gun was just a toy, Not reaching for it, as the cops suggest, or pulling it on them at all... just showing them it's not real. One would have to expect that a cop shooting a minor with a toy gun is gonna try to spin it to cover his own backside.

As you all know I have kid's who are coppers (in Oz), and I respect the jobs they and there counterparts do....

but this guy, and it seems more and more of the American cops lately, need to be punished to the full extent of the law they are meant to be upholding.

I am disgusted by this, and apologise for any previous remarks where I stood up for other cops over there that were no doubt as guilty as this mongrel.

A poster here once told me there as many police in New York as there are people in the entire Australian Army. (True?)

That's just standard police. Then there are the Sherriffs, State Troopers, and even Correction officers in some places have police powers. Country wide that's millions of people, dealing with millions upon millions each day. "Stuff" is bound to happen....bad guys getting a badge will happen.

99.9% of the problems people have with cops here....they don't know when to keep their mouth shut and follow orders. Under arrest is under arrest....not to be debated in the middle of street.

Abuse of power exists everywhere, but with cameras everywhere and in every device we're going to hear about more often. Before my time....mouth off at a cop you'd get a crack in the head with a night stick. Some Most have it coming to them.

Interesting comment. It's the same one some people use to defend rapists. "Well, if she was walking alone at night and wearing a short skirt she had it coming to her."

It's not at all alike. To equate what I said with that comment is a huge stretch.

Besides that, I'm not excusing what cops do/have done wrong either. I hope the guilty ones serve hard time. Having it on video will help convict them.
