A scam number has been charged to Telstra mobile customers following a breach in their system.
The fee will come up as a "Third Party Purchase" on your Telstra Mobile bill.
Telstra support staff said it is a scam following a breach in Telstra's networks where they gain access to your mobile number and make a series of calls to premium services.
The billing amount is $39.95.
The would be "hackers" make a series of 6 calls in one minute that returned the above amount.
Anyone who has these charges, call Telstra on 13 22 00 and insist to talk to a supervisor.
"Dialogue Communications" can be contacted on 1300738639 and they will tell you ring Ordanduu on 1300886232 and ask for a refund, they will offer you a refund by cheque. The scam works when you click on www.quiz2winmycar on your PC and you fill in a survey.
Unfortunately someone I know filled out the survey and the next Telstra bill had this $39.95 charge.

Why aren't Telstra refunding their customers if the charges are due to a breach in their system?

Who do these numbers (Dialogue Communications" can be contacted on 1300738639 and they will tell you ring Ordanduu on 1300886232) belong to and why would you call them if you follow your instructions and call Telstra first and speak to a supervisor?

I don't know but apparently Telstra will only give you the number to ring at Dialogue Communications, I assume it would open the flood gates if Telstra admitted someone had hacked into the system. Good read if you google Dialogue communications and open third article about them and Telstra mobile carriers.

Because Telstra will tell you to ring DC for assistance, then DC will give you the Ordanduu number, this is when you ask for the refund. My friend did get the refund by cheque.

Is this odd or what?
Everytime i've needed to contact Telstra regarding Tech Support or issues with Bigpond connection, within a week the scam overseas phone calls start up again. These grubby scammers have connections, or else they actually work for Telstra.

Yes I've been scammed by Diaglogue communications with a 19998866 number. What happened was I got a text from them for no reason. I replied "stop" as that was what it said to avoid further messages. Then $19.80 was added to my bill as a 'third party purchase'. Rang them and they told me they will stop the process. The next month I was billed again. Rang Telstra and they will ring me back tomorrow and seek a refund.
This is modern day theft. It makes me so angry. We are disability pensioners.
