Abbott to sell Medibank

There goes the benchmark that keeps our insurance premiums at a decent level.

I don't even understand why this is even necessary given that Medibank makes a profit? It's as if decisions are being made without any thought goig into it other than they promised to do it in 2007 so this is their way of punishing voters for not voting for them in at that time.

What other reason could there be?

o dearie me. you want specifics of the boardrooms. as if that was of any significance.

the board rooms where the deals are discussed, of course, wherever they are and whoever is sitting in them doing the deals.

You have to stop the rot sometime

If they wanted to make a real difference they would start by looking at the top of the tree, but that would mean they would have to start with themselves.

Attacking unions and throwing mud is a campaign to turn people against unions so workers have no one to protect them from predatory employers so they can make more money.

It also deflects attention away from what he is doing and all the lies he tells

Why bring board rooms into a discussion about the sale of Medicare then?

What board rooms are you talking about?

The IPA ones where Rupert and friends decide what they want from the puppet they installed as PM?

Libs never wanted medicare because it stops the top end of town from exploting the poor, and by selling it and making it a private business he has achieved that and not had to deal with the fall out of scrapping it.

And just like every other thing that has been privtised the costs will go up till no one can even affort any medical cover and we will end up with the US system where you are turned away from hospital to die if you dont have private cover.

How on earth does selling off profitable assets stop the rot?  Instead one would think that retaining them would assist in paying of the debt.

The facts are, that at no point in time, and under no circumstances has selling off a public sector enterprise ever  resulted in the customer (us) being better off, and history is about to repeat itself.

Sorry Hawk, but in light of the recent revelations regarding misappropriation of funds (Craig Thomson), backroom deals (Barangaroo contracts) and standover tactics (yes, by your precious bikie gangs) of the unions, I think the public would be very disappointed if there wasn't some sort of enquiry.
