We have people spreading the hate for everyone from the PM to the disabled and refugees everyday.

Today we have Adam Goodes, who truly lived up to his name.

I think I know what exactly other players you mean

....all those other players, of whatever "race" that were racially slurred becausee they got relentlessly booed on the

weekend??

2014

ADAM Goodes insists he is unperturbed by the incessant booing he cops from opposition crowds during games, choosing to view it as a mark of respect.

Goodes, who will play his 350th match in Friday night's preliminary final against North Melbourne, has often been the target of opposition fans over his long career with the Sydney Swans.

But it appears to have reached new heights in 2014 for the two-time Brownlow medallist.

That has led to speculation it could be racially based, or at least stem from his stance last year when he pointed out a young female Collingwood fan who had called him an 'ape'.

That stance, along with his ongoing campaign against racism, was part of what led to Goodes being named the 2014 Australian of the Year.

Many of the game's greats have also been the subject of constant booing during games, something

Wayne Carey, James Hird and Nick Riewoldt have dealt with in their careers.

Goodes is choosing to believe that is the motivation behind the crowd reaction.

"It hasn't been difficult," he told reporters on Wednesday when asked about the booing. "It's not something that I'm not used to.

"There's been many a time being booed at football grounds.

"Sometimes it's a mark of respect, that the opposition fans don't want you to play well, and every time you get the football.

"It doesn't bother me to be honest.

"It's one of those things where if I pay too much attention to what the crowd's doing, then I'm not really playing my role on the field.

"We're just worried about getting out there and winning games, wherever they are, and since I've been back this year we've only lost two games.

"It's been a pretty good streak for us as a football club, but me individually as well."

The one thing he should stop doing is trying to intimidate the crowd,stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

He went overboard with the girl,(she commented on how he looked with that "beard" and it had nothing to do

with racism yet he played it far all it's "worth").

So that's one reason they boo him,(if he had actually handled that correctly he may have earned a bit of

respect but he choose to do it his way as in poor me).

He then decides to throw an imaginary spear at the crowd,(spears are thrown to kill people so how is the crowd

suppose to act).

He does other "stupid" things to have a "go" at the crowd.

The crowd don't respect him, that's why they boo him,(it's the same way crowds behave with other players that

they don't respect).

He's gone overboard and it's his own fault as to why he gets boo'd,(trying to play the racism card wont work

as that's not what it's about).

To me he's the same as Ron Barassi,(always looking to stay in the media spotlight),tease.gif

Well then explain WHY they only boo as Goodes comes out?

they boo at him because of his unsportsmanlike

behaviour.

and no, they dont only boo at him and not

all indigenous players get booed at.

he is a sook.   never seen anyone reacting

this way.  its part of the game.

yep.  if he directed the spear throwing dance towards

his supporters, i don't believe he would be getting the

reaction he is getting now.  sook.

Personally I think most of this carry on is media driven, they want the crowds to keep booing so they can keep the word racist on the front page. it seems to sell papers for some reason. It certainly gets people talking and the more people talk and argue about it the bigger the circus will become.

I have a particular dislike for Wayne Carey and probably would have booed him if I had the chance, probably even did from my lounge chair. I guess I cant be called racist for that because we are both white, but if I was indigenous would I be a racist?

Adam was always one of my favorite footballers but his constantly labelling white people racist is wearing a bit thin. He seems hell bent on dividing races rather than uniting them. I think that where the booing stems from.

And the war dance/spear throwing episode, what exactly was that about? I'm not sure how pretending to throw a spear into the crowd would do anything other than fire them up? Now I'm reading that dance was only made up a few years back and has no cultural significance, is that even true? Surely there is something significant in aboriginal heritage that can be brought into the game that everybody can get behind, something other than imitating throwing spears into the crowd. It would be great to see an aboriginal equivalent of the haka at he start of a game, that would be something uniting.

So, being told to go back to the zoo or being called an ape is not racist?

And, fancy showing pride in your indigenous heritage during an indigenous round by performing an indigenous war cry.

Anyone find it strange there is a louder cry to stop the booing than there is stop the racial slurs?

Being called on to stop booing just one player because he's indiginous, is that not racist? Why are the other players that get booed fair game still?

Who knows what was in the mind of the person who told him to go back to the zoo?

The ape bit was not a racist comment because the girl called him that because of how the beard made him

look,(it had nothing to do with him being aboriginal).

The 13-year-old said she wanted to apologise to Goodes, saying: "I don't know why it came out, I just kind of meant it as a joke and then he heard it and he thought it was racist."

"I'm sorry for what I said, I didn't mean it in a racist way," Julia said.

Try and see the perspective from the other side,(if you were sitting in the crowd and someone threw an

imaginary spear at you, what would your reaction be?).

One Carlton fan was reportedly ejected from the ground after becoming confrontational following Goodes' dance: Some people dubbed Goodes' dance 'aggressive and unsportsmanlike'

Then Jetta did it against West Coast and of course they have earned more dis-respect

This takes acceptance further apart as it's seen as intimidation by people and the opposite of what they claim to

be doing,stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif
