The air con in my daughters rental property is not working. The agent was notified pre Christmas. They sent out an electrician after Christmas ๐ who then had to arrange for the air con fellow to attend. The unit is burnt out and needs replacing. They have had the quote for a week now they want a second quote and will have to arrange this. Agent says these matters take time?????
How long is an acceptable time to wait for a replacement.....Melb is expecting 40+ degrees this week?

Twinkle, dont think it will be fixed this week.........
My daughter doesnt rent and when hers needed replacing it took a couple of weeks for it to be replaced.
So with your daughter renting, would assume it would take a couple of weeks........
A few yrs back when I rented and something went wrong with heating, I had to ring constantly to get them to do something, some agents are rather lax.
Hope she gets an answer this week.....

In victoria air con is deemed non essential, so the landlord can take thier time in fixing it. I checked up on this last year when my air con went bunk.
Heating is essential, cooling isn't

The landlord is terrific, it's the agent that is slack.
I rang them explaining miss 10 is asthmaatic....that has made a difference. I now have a copy of the first quote and they are willing to let me get another. Hopefully I can, the landlord accepts ( and we have his number ๐ ) and one can be installed asap.
Yes happy heating is essential but not cooling. But misses health issue will factor into it now.
