Probably been done to death, but came home from the dentist, OH is horrified they gave me three more amalgam fillings. I couldn't say a thing as I was having 5 fillings that day face so numbed I couldn't form words and it was frankly too late before I noticed. So anyway I thought if I go look at some studies on line it might put my mind at ease but YIKES it hasn't. There is no current evidence that the elemental mercury causes harm except even the FDA have brought up that it can show up in breast milk, others claim it's ability to be inhaled causes significant harm, kidney and brain damage.
So I have to go back for 5 more and I am wondering whether I should see if white fillings are the go and avoid any further amalgam fillings in my system. If I have 5more I will have closer to 15 in my system. I should add I have had about 5 previously with no side effects. After yesterdays visit I have a big headache (probably reading too much lol) and still have that yucky taste in my mouth which I am sure will subside.
Would you have more or get quotes for the white ones that apparently leak a substance that can cause cancer over time lol! Or join the millions of others that have had them done and don't worry about the long term impacts?

Yep and guess what now the dentist is saying they are all cracked and need replacing one with a crown apparently which alone is 1500 dollars, let alone the cost of more fillings, money I do not have....... Sigh 😞 Trying to fork out for OH's MRI scans is hard enough... Just what I needed not!!!

sometimes one has to augment knowledge for a considered personal opinion by reading between the lines of dogma and also drawing upon seemingly disparate facts
so add :
I seem the recall that 50% is mercury metal
waste amalgam can not be dumped into the environment - your little filling is to dangerous for the vast wild ecology
Older sharks can not be legally sold for human consumption due to accumulated mercury toxicity .
Tuna fish are not to be eating in great quantities due to the same reason
A device called the jorome meter can indicate mercury vapour in a persons mouth - results not encouraging

Just that personally I would prefer to take my chances with synthetic fillings rather than heavy metals

Amalgam safe!!!!!!!! WTH!
Mercury is a TOXIC metal!!!!!!!!!!
Even the French dentists that invented the stuff/procedure issued grave cautions about it's use!
Dentists should know better! After all, didn't they go to medical school?
One would expect they learnt about poisons.
If a dentists tosses an amalgam filling or ANY part of it in the trash, they are liable for large fines for polluting the environment.
What about polluting someones body for the rest of their life?
