Annoying little popup that tells you how many people per hour are watching an Item.

Does anyone else find the little popup that now tells you how many people per hour are watching an Item annoying?

It blocks the image of what you're trying to see.  And why am I interested in what the view rate per hour is anyway???  How does it add to my knowledge, or bidding strategy??

Maybe its meant to put pressure on watchers to become bidders? I wish it would go away.

Totally agree, glad others find this annoying as well.

Why not just state how many are watching in the general text of the page, or put it under a tab in the 'highest price' etc., drop down?

they are a bit annoying, but at least we can close them. I guess the idea is to give potential bidders an idea of how popular something is?  I noticed in the UK they now show on the listing how many people have put something on their watch list

I tend not to believe those sorts of things. I was on a site where the sale ended in 15 minutes I had to go out and when I came home an hour later and refreshed the sale still had 15 minutes! It did for the whole evening
