Anyone made a Star Wars theme birthday cake?

L wants a Star Wars theme birthday cake for her 7th birthday.  She is having it at a bistro type place with a inside play centre and bowling alley, but they are OK if I bring the cake (due to all her allergies and stuff she can't have their ice-cream cake covered in sweets).

I've done a google image search and there are lots of good ideas  BUT all are quite "boyish".  Any ideas on how to make it more "girlish"?  L has looked on google images and has stated they are too "boyish" (it's star wars!)....

Cake making is my hobby, and last year she had Alice in Wonderland theme.

I am seriously thinking about taking the "easy" way out, and just making cupcakes and using Star Wars ring cake toppers or light sabre cake toppers.  Is that seriously slack parenting?

I don't see how Star Wars can be "girlish".  It's space ships, aliens and Jedi's!

maybe you could do a star wars doll cake using   that girl who was in star wars, I should know her name but can't think of it right now.

Clever! Have you considered making a pink cake with star wars figures? or a pink R2D2? even yoda dressed in pink.... or would she flip out if the colours are changed?

My daughter did a boy one with a light sabre. in blue.

Thanks for the Leia cake!  It's great!!!!  That's perfect.  Will show to her later - maybe be issues that it's star wars lego, but.....should be ok!!! Fingers crossed it's within my skills to make it!

Also the Amidala one in the dolly varden cake is awsome - I could so do that AND I have a dolly varden tin!
