From the Urban Dictionary:

Middle aged men in Lycra a term coined by leading market research firm Mintel.

Michael Oliver, who wrote the report, said: "Thirty or 40 years ago, people would ride a bike for economic reasons, but our research suggests that nowadays a bicycle is more a lifestyle addition, a way of demonstrating how affluent you are."

Are they talking about merchant bankers?

I don't live with one, but I am regularly subjected to the sight of them during summer thanks to the popular rail trail near the supermarket

Why is it you cannot write an intellegent unbiased answer without degrading our PM ?

If he gets paid like many others to advertise products on his licra body suits, good for him and at least he looks OK and not like others I have seen on the road.

to the first question, i don't know. the second part, i believe what i say about the nong. he probably doesn't get paid for the advertising on the lycra as that is illegal (well it used to be but anything seems possible now),  donations to the party or a think tank would probably get by OK.
